Privacy policy

In short

Who we are

Clanova is a social platform for gamers, built around finding teammates. It is run by a sole proprietorship registered in Canada.

The founder is the person accountable for privacy and in charge of the protection of personal information. You can reach them at hello@clanova.gg.

This policy covers this website, clanova.gg, the form on its home page where you can request an invitation, and email you send us.

When you visit this website

Cloudflare hosts this website for us. To deliver the pages and protect the site from abuse, Cloudflare processes your IP address and technical details of each request, such as the page you asked for. Cloudflare records each request, including your IP address, and we can see those records in our Cloudflare account for up to 31 days. Cloudflare may process this information in the United States. Cloudflare's own privacy policy, at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy, explains how it handles this information.

Cookies

This website sets no cookies of its own. If Cloudflare needs to check that a visitor is a person and not an automated program, for example by showing a challenge page, it may place security cookies in your browser. Cloudflare sets them as part of hosting this site for us. Cookie data may be processed in the United States.

When you request an invitation

The form on our home page asks for one thing: your email address. When you submit it, your browser sends it to clanova.gg. A small script that runs on Cloudflare's network checks the address and makes one call to a database that Supabase runs for us in its Canada (Central) region.

The database stores your email address, the date and time of your request, and the date of the privacy policy in force at the time. It does not store your name, your IP address or details of your device.

The script keeps no logs. Cloudflare records the request, including your IP address, like any other request to this website. Supabase's service logs may record technical details of the request, which can include an IP address, for up to 7 days.

We use your email address only to send you an invitation. If there is room in the test, the founder will email you one. Invitations go out a limited number at a time. We do not send newsletters, updates or announcements, and we do not sell your address.

How long we keep your email address

We keep your email address for up to 24 months after your request, then delete it. If you create an account before then, the address becomes part of your account. You can ask us to delete it at any time.

Who handles your information, and where

These companies handle your information for us:

Your information may be processed outside your province or territory, and outside Canada, including in the United States. If you live in Quebec, this means it may be processed outside Quebec. Where it is processed outside Canada, law enforcement and national security authorities there may be able to access it under that country's laws.

When you email us

If you write to hello@clanova.gg, we receive your email address and your message, and we use them only to reply to you. We do not sell them or add you to a mailing list. We keep messages only as long as we need them, and you can ask us to delete yours.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you and how we use it, to have it corrected or deleted, or to withdraw your consent. Write to hello@clanova.gg. We answer within 30 days. If you withdraw your consent to an invitation request, we delete your email address and cannot send you an invitation.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we handle your information, write to hello@clanova.gg first. If our answer does not settle it, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.

Age

Clanova is not for anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this policy on this page and change the "Last updated" date.
